Back from Austin-my concert outfit

I wore this outfit on Friday night to go see some shows and I liked wearing it so much that I decided to wear it again on Saturday night to go see Health, the Mae Shi and some others at Mohawk's. I trekked all over town in this. The Ann D's are pretty good walking shoes.
The skirt is Dries van Noten from the mid-eighties. It used to be my moms. It was from one of his first collections, Korshak was one of the first to pick him up. I feel very very very lucky to have it. What a knock-out piece. Worn with Ann Demeulemeester sandal-boots and a mongolian lamb fur vest.
Just got back from Austin tonight-I have so much to blog. I'll probably spend all of next week recapping all of the amazing stores I got to see and the cool people I got to meet, plus some exciting new purchases. Austin shopping is so ridiculously good.
It was so nice meeting some of my readers while I was in Austin! Thanks for saying hi, hope I see you again soon. In fact I probably will-planning on going back to Austin next month.
xx jane
great outfit :)

You really know how to channel a certain look with a completely modern/fresh take.
I was wondering if you could explain the origins of your lamb skin vest? Are they hard to find. I think it makes the outfit. The dries skirt is also incredible!
I just love the way you have such an innate sense of style and the courage to walk around with complete confidence in your style. You are one of a kind and forever an inspiration.
Your styling really have been getting better and better!

I love the vest, I am a sucker for anything furry haha :)
Kind of reminds me of Penny Lane. http://isnotfashion.blogspot.com
i loooooooooooooooooooooooove the ann d boots i can't wait for mine to get here
eeeeee!!!
im amazed at how comfy they were when i tried them on in the store, its good to know theyre also good for walking around - it will give me another reason to never take them off my feet!
i love how your charisma shows through your outfits
My Best Friend Mindy met you in Austin this weekend!! She said you looked stunning... We are avid readers of yours. Truly an inspiration. Thank you for that!!
XO
Jane, these pictures (as generally all of yours :) are just amazing ! ! ! ! ! - I really like how you're expressing all the moods you have by each of the outfits.
Best greetings from a fan from Zurich :) - we have lots of great shops for fashionistas and vintage'istas here - http://luxury-shops.com/2_news/ - or http://www.luxplus.ch/ - just a city to dive to. .. hope to see you some day around ^_^
That vest is glorious.

not so nice, I think. I much prefer your streamlined silhouette. I think it's the combination- your recent mismatched numbers with the hat make you look like a confused witch.
great shoes though, Ann D + Dries + Margiela make me really excited to be going to Antwerp on exchange
love it.
you wore that to see shows? Oh dear. At least if it was a remotely pleasing ensemble it'd be ok, but the fact that it looks pretty bad (and not in a 'oh, cool - so eclectic & ironic!' way) and is totally impracticle and attention-grabbing in an obnoxious way makes it look utterly ridiculous. Just my two cents. Of course your rabid fans will be all over it.
:) I was surprised when I saw that u wore THAT outfit! When I saw Tokyo Police Club a couple of years ago there, people spilled beer on my shoes....but then I realized--you're too young to be around the beer spiller people! I'll have to see some shows sanz trashed co-eds when I get back up to Austin :) wish I was at SXSW--darn u work!!!!
oh wow so cool outfit !! Everything is so put together !

very nice outfit!
Oh, sorry but these shoes are really ugly! And it is a shame because they surely cost a fortune! Do you imagine all the useful things you could have done with the money instead...

I love the whole look - but that skirt kills me! INCREDIBLE.

As an Austinite, I'm anxious to hear about your cool finds. I loved SXSW, your outfit is lovely. It was refreshing to see all the visiting fashionistas like yourself about town over the weekend, aside from the Austin casual cool or hipster looks.
such a badass outfit! LOVE IT!
The lamb vest makes me sad :(
When you have a lamb yourself you can just cry at the thought of it being turned into a vest.
Wow, we very nearly bumped into each other. I was at Mohawk for a little bit, but I left to get a cupcake and then decided to see the show at Radio Room instead.

I don't know you, but I totally walked passed you that night!
I said 'hey', but no hello back -- and further down the sidewalk someone commented on how nuts it was to be wearing that.
Anyhow, I thought it was awesome, and great blog!!
i loove the vest!
