TORNADO WATCH

Wearing vintage silk pants, sheer tank top, YSL cage booties, and Proenza Schouler sunglasses
So last night I was taking these pictures in my dad's front yard when he comes running out of the house telling me to get in the car and find shelter because a tornado was on its way towards us.
I think everyone who has lived in north Texas is used to tornado scares but this one came pretty close. Our houses and dogs were fine though. Waiting out storms is so boring-even more boring when they knock out your power for a long time.
I didn't get to take any pictures of the storm-bummer!
Shelley was a little traumatized by it all, poor baby.
Well, in other news….eye love my YSL cage heels.

–and that’s scary with the tornado! I live in Houston, and we don’t have them as much as farther north, but my next door neighbors shed was picked us and MOVED about 8 years ago–It’s was scary, and it’s still sitting in the new local-close to the back of the property. :)

if a tornado came to vienna, the last thing i’d think about would be taking a picture of it (or maybe not? I am asian after all), because vienna’s so small it’d all be wiped out :P

I work at H&M and we have similar pants for sale there,

  40. Hannah says:

My mom LOVES tornadoes – she’ll spend an hour on youtube watching clips of them. We never get them in VA though. I love the simplicity of your outfit – very refined.

  44. is says:

what shoes!!!! i love the black ribbon

  45. Vi says:

I thought I wasn’t going to be able to leave the house today because of that tornado watch. Did you hear the massive thunder this morning?! Texas has the most random weather. Tomorrow it’s supposed to be really hot.

  46. Christine says:

I love how you were non-chalantly taking photos
right before a tornado!!! Glad you made it safe!
You look SIX FEET TALL in those pics, love the outfit!
    Especially the shoes.

  47. m says:

i love this more refined and sophisticated outfit, but i think the sunglasses really ruin it!! the shape does not fit your face at all and they kind of look like alien eyes

  48. KD says:

Wow, scary!! But on a lighter note, I LOVE the outfit and the shoes! The ribbon is such an amazing touch. Imagine how awesome it would be with those whit circular SS08(?) Preonza sunglasses . . .

  49. rachel e. says:

i’m glad you guys are all right. we got it pretty bad down here in south dallas county, but no tornadoes, thank goodness (although there were some sirens). we even got some really bad rain this morning as well. your outfit looks amazing (as usual) and your YSL cage heels are incredible. I am so jealous.

  50. amy williams says:

Love this, and some amazing photoshop work with that lost picture, love it.
(And the beauty of those YSL’s goes without saying…!)

  51. rockie says:

  52. Olya says:

  53. athena says:

It was a wild night! We had a tornado close by us too here in Carrollton. Knocked our power out for 15 hours. Didn’t really sleep at all with all the noise. Thank the Lord nothing was damaged at our home, but some of our poor neighbors had their fences knocked down, trees broken & roof damaged. The top of our street post light even blew off! Glad nothing happened to your home. It’s always a crazy spring in Texas, isn’t it? :)
Your outfit is great Jane. Wishing you and your mom a happy and safe trip to Tokyo!

  54. Caroline says:

    Amazing shoes!
    Your dog is too cute!

  73. Cruz says:

O___O tornadoes must be terrifying, but people say the same thing about earthquakes who aren’t from CA, and they’re not that bad, so maybe this is the same situation hahah Anyways, great outfit as always. I think I prefer your YSLs to the regular boot kind. Your dog is so cute! :)

  74. Geri Wu says:

haha i love your ysl cage shoes too! they’re so versatile
    xx, Geri

  78. Molly says:

He told you to get IN the car? Well…that’s silly. That’s the most dangerous place to go during a tornado.
    Anyway, beautiful outfit…as always.

  79. Alice says:

wow, 3rd pic and last pic are amazing!
good thing everything and everyone was fine during the tornado. that’s so scary!

  80. Saski says:

I LOVE the pants with the YSL shoes. I’m afraid my taste in shoes rarely overlaps with yours, but the combination of those perfectly ankle-showcasing black pants with that wonderful permutation of the cage shoe has won me over. And your dog is too adorable!
On another note, I never cease to be amazed at how money seems to be no issue for you. Designer brands are great, but if you’re wearing Margiela at 16, what do you aspire to when you’re 30? Maybe tone down all the posts on the shopping trips and the latest shoes you want, which you will inevitably get when they come out. That’s just my opinion.

  81. xAZD says:

I’m glad everything is ok! And wow–the YSL’s. They are so wonderful, and the bow is just divine.

I’ve had similar experiences with tornados in Iowa…half the time if I’m home alone I don’t bother to turn on the radio and only find out after the fact that a twister had touched down. Oops!

  107. The effects you made with Photoshop, layering your YSL caged heels over your pupils, is pretty interesting.
Sorry about the tornadoe — I’ve come close to quite a few hurricanes myself. It does get fairly boring after the first few hours of power outages.

Are they comfortable to walk in?
    Adore the pants.

  120. Molly Rose says:

I love the YSL cage heels, I’d love to get a pair… but they’re a little out of my price range. Yeah, tornadoes are really scary, I live on the east coast but we got one not too long ago… turquoise sky, freak hail storm, dented siding… I can’t believe dealing with that a lot!

  121. can i just tell you that i follow your blog. and seriously girl, you are UHH-MAZINGGG! such an inspiration- LOVE the shoes!

  141. The last photo of the cage superimposed over the eye reminds me of the opening scene in “un chien andalou” as bunuel brings a razor up to a woman’s eye (never found out if he cut it or not, i had to look away…). whether or not that was your intent, it’s Brilliant =)

  142. Lucy says:

    houseS? oh my… o_o
